SAN DIEGO, California- February 20, 2007 - www.gphusqvarna.com,
On Sunday, February 18, 2007 Round Two of the WORCS (World Off Road Championship Series) was held in Victorville, CA, and it proved to be a tough round for Husqvarna pilot, Lance Smail. Lance's weekend was looking good after Friday and Saturday practice sessions. Lance said, "The bike feels great - the suspension is predictable and I'm feeling confident for the race."
But it was not to be his day. 20 minutes into the two-hour race, the bike began to run poorly forcing Lance to make an unscheduled pit stop, finding his carburetor vent hoses plugged with dirt.
Lance went back out to make up time, but had a fall in the heavy sand whoop section hurting his wrist and riding the rest of the race in pain, finishing just outside of the points. A disappointed Lance said< "That's racing. We'll just have to make up for it next time."
The weekend however, was not all tough luck for Husqvarna and young gun, Joey Pascarella, joining Lance again with his 2007 CR125 Husqvarna. 14-year old Pascarella won the Amateur 125 class in Round One of the WORCS series and was competing in his first Pro WORCS race in the 125 Pro (A) class. Although Pascarella made a terrible start, he worked his way through the pack finding himself just behind the leader. By the end of the race he finished a solid second from a dead-last start, making him eligible to run in the second wave start of the two-hour pro race the following day.
Joey will join Lance again for the next WORCS race in Lake Havasu AZ, on March 16-18.
