Dirt Rider Magazine (DR) has once again teamed up with the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC) to offer various "land use activists and volunteers" a chance to hang out with off-road legends such as Dick Burleson, Malcolm Smith, Jimmy Lewis, Johnny Campbell, and Scot Harden at the 2007 24-Hour Torture Test. The event will be held at Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area near Gorman, California in late January or early February 2007.
Land-use volunteers are asked to submit a resume to the BRC's event review committee. Once approved, they will be sent to DR for an invite to attend this premier off-road event.
DR has asked that you put in 25 hours of volunteer work doing things such as trail maintenance, cleaning up riding areas, writing letters to politicians or some other activity to promote and protect OHV recreation on public lands. DR requires those trail volunteers to submit a "Trail Rsum" to BRC that documents what you have done (phone logs, letters from FS, other land agents, and club officers where you have donated time to fix trails, walk precincts, attend land agency meetings, etc.) Remember, the better your resume, the better your chance of making the final cut.
Jimmy Lewis, head honcho at Dirt Rider Magazine, states, "The volunteers really had a great time visiting with factory team riders at the 2006 event. The trail volunteers also enjoyed the DR staff's prize-a-thon party on Tuesday night to reward their efforts over the past year. I know the 2007 will be even more fun."
The deadline for submitting your resume to the BRC is December 16, 2006. Send those resumes to: BlueRibbon Coalition, Attn: Dirt Rider 24-Hour Test, 4555 Burley Dr., Ste. A., Pocatello, ID 83202 or via email to: brrichard@sharetrails.org
