Ricky Carmichael's win at last year's U.S. Open capped of a banner season as he won the World Supercross GP, AMA Supercross Series, 250cc AMA Motocross and the Motocross des Nations titles.

Last year Suzuki's Ricky Carmichael swept both motos in the AMA Supercross class. Yamaha's Bret Metcalfe, of Murrieta, Calif., won the AMA Supercross Lites U.S. Open championship, winning moto 1 and finishing second in moto 2. Honda's Andrew Short, of Colorado Springs, Colo., won the second night of racing in the AMA Supercross Lites class. Suzuki's Blake Wharton, of Pilot Point, Texas, won the overall in the 85cc class.
"It has been an unbelievable year for me," said Carmichael after winning his third U.S. Open championship. "I am really excited for Suzuki, and this is a big night for them. They gave me an opportunity, and we all worked together on this great season."
