Aura360 announced today the launch of a special website dedicated to the television broadcasts of the SCORE desert racing series. The new website, www.thebajaunlimited.com, provides information about upcoming television coverage, video clips, news and press releases, and offers SCORE fans the opportunity to purchase DVD copies of race programming. The site went live on Tuesday, Sept. 23 in preparation for OLN's special broadcast of the 37th Tecate SCORE Baja 500. The one-hour Prime Time special airs tonight at 9 p.m. (Eastern and Pacific Time).
The launch of www.thebajaunlimited.com is in response to the growing interest by motor sports fans in the SCORE desert racing series. Last year, Aura360 co-produced the 2004 Tecate SCORE Baja1000 for NBC, marking the first time a desert race had been televised on a major national network since 1981. After the success of the initial broadcast, television coverage was expanded to include seven hours of original programming of the entire SCORE desert racing series on three networks: NBC, OLN, and Discovery HD.
The website was developed to complement the television coverage by providing an additional media outlet for fans of the SCORE desert racing series. In addition to providing information about television broadcasts, the site allows viewers to purchase DVD copies of their favorite races and learn more about the participants. The site is soon to be expanded to include behind-the scenes coverage of some of the sport's most interesting and compelling racers. For example, fans will be able to see racer Cameron Steele make his pre-run journey along the Baja course in preparation for the infamous Tecate Baja 1000. The coverage of the racers will include live updates from events, feature stories, video clips, and photos.
The official website of SCORE International, www.score-international.com, continues to be the primary source of information about the six-race SCORE Desert Series. The official SCORE site provides information including technical updates, rules, course maps, driver/rider bulletins, point standings, race results and media releases.
