Results from "the Wick" prove that experience is the key to conquering the sand. Carmichael lost a moto for the first time since 2003, taking second to Chad Reed. But RC still rebounded to take the overall with Reed in second. Veteran John Dowd showed his sand-riding prowess by taking third overall, followed by Kevin Windham and Doug Henry (fourth and fifth, respectively).
Grant Langston came back strong after missing round two. He captured another victory with a (2-1), followed by Mike Brown (3-4), and Ryan Hughes, who celebrates his first podium of the series (8-2). Mike Alessi won the first moto, but an unfortunate second moto left him in seventh overall (1-34).
