Arai MXC-Pro: One of Three Arai Off-Road Helmet Choices

New Product: Arai MXC-PRO Off-Road Helmet

The MXC-PRO is Arai's two-piece off-road helmet and one of the three models that Arai offers to dirt riders; the others being the XD crossover design for dirt and street, and the one-piece VX-PRO (DC).

The MXC-PRO's two-piece design makes it very popular with woods riders and racers whether they're on dirt bikes or ATVs. Its features include Arai's exclusive "clc" (complex laminate) shell construction which is compounded to be not only very strong and flexible, but light enough for the MXC-PRO to weigh in at only 51 ounces in Medium White. Another Arai exclusive, the Delta-5© ventilation system utilizes pressurized air from under the aggressive HyperShark© peak to force-feed air into the helmet interior, which is then exhausted by means of two exhaust ducts. The system is fully adjustable and closable.

Inside, the helmet's interior comfort lining is completely removable and washable. Its open "space frame" construction is designed in concert with the adjustable Delta-5© system for "considerably more interior airflow and exhaust" via the reversed top scoop and Dual Delta Vent-2 rear vent. As with all of Arai dirt helmets, removable liners and cheekpads in optional sizes are available to give the rider a customized fit.

Arai's two-piece MXC-PRO also features an adjustable, removable peak and rockguard. Note that Arai uses plastic screws instead of metal ones in the peak and chinbar because they are designed to allow these accessories to shift in a "face plant" impact and ultimately shear, to help keep the head from being snapped back. (Neither of these accessory pieces is covered by the helmet's Snell Certification.)

Arai's MXC-PRO meets or exceeds both Snell and DOT standards, and is available in White, Aluminum Silver and Barbed Wire in 5 color variations, sizes XS through XXL. As of May 10, 2005, suggested retail prices are: White: $464.95; Alum. Silver $476.95 and Barbed Wire: $569.95.
