New Trail Construction and Maintenance Notebook Now Available on Web

Anyone who is planning trail work soon should check out the latest edition of the Trail Construction and Maintenance Notebook which is currently available on the web in PDF form. It includes basic trail construction and maintenance information in a concise, easy-to-understand guide. Rather than including heavy detail found in the Forset Service handbook, the Trail Construction and Maintenance Notebook outlines activities done in the field, not in the office. "We worked to keep it small and readable so it would end up in trail crew packs instead of propping up table legs."

This great resource was produced by the USDA Forest Service and the Missoula Technology and Development Center with funding from the Federal Highway Administration's Recreational Trails Program (RTP).
