Hello I have loved dirt bikes my whole life but cannot convince my parents to let me have one. So I need your professional input: If I do convince them, I was thinking of a KX250F as a first bike. Is this a fine choice? I am 13 and weigh 120 pounds but I want to get into motocross right away. Thanks for the input.Evan Bossaer

You are in a tough situation right now. As I see it, you have two options: A) you can keep telling your parents how awesome motorcycles are and the benefits that they will bring you. You can’t leave out the fact that them buying you a dirt bike is only going to keep you out of trouble and therefore make you a better student in school! It is a tricky line but you have to hold them hostage in a sense. There is still hope on this one and I’m rootin’ for you! Or, there is my least favorite option, B) You can be like every other kid and stay after school to play team sports. But for your bike choice a KX250F is a great motorcycle and you will more than likely love it. It just depends on what type of riding you are going to do. Ask your friends that ride in the area; I’m sure they will have plenty of advice on a good bike for you. -Chris Green
