<p>If there was ever a factory team most riders dreamed of being on, it is the Honda squad. And it is the bike that often draws the most eyes. Often rumored to be the best, but now with the production rule the ever-elusive factory bike is constrained to live in a shell cast in the thousands for the masses. But this has led to the evolution of top factory support teams, too. So here is a sharp eye looking at the top Hondas of supercross where they spend the majority of their time, in the shops and factories that build and rebuild, tune and tweak them week in and week out. Behind locked doors, Dirt Rider got a glimpse into Big Red’s supercross perfection. Eye candy to most, but the ultimate ride if you are Trey Canard, Chad Reed, Cole Seely or Eli Tomac.<br />

<p>Easily the cleanest-looking bike in the pits, almost too stock looking to be what is the most factory of the production-based bikes out there. The trickest stuff is what you cannot easily see, though a hydraulic clutch, factory suspension and works wheels are pretty special.

<h3>Chad Reed</h3>

<p>
Being a team owner and a rider is a whole new challenge for Chad Reed, but he knows what he wants in a bike, having raced for all of the major Japanese factories besides Honda. Now on that machine and not a factory rider, Reed is basically free to do anything he wants to his bike, as long as he can buy it. And with enough money, so can you.

<p>
Troy Lee Designs runs a first-class team and gives its riders first-class equipment, both hard and soft. Like a lot of sub-factory teams, the extent of true factory support stops when it comes time for the really trick parts, so that leaves the team open to use what they can buy. And like you, a lot of that comes down to budget and performance. With a win in the competitive Lites class already, TLD has what it takes.

<h3>Eli Tomac</h3>
<h2>Geico Powersports Honda #19</h2>
<p>
The Factory Connection Honda CRF250R is about as close to a factory Honda 250F as you’ll see outside the true Honda Racing semi, and there is a lot of trust (and hard-to-obtain parts) shared between the two teams. Eli Tomac cannot complain about equipment in his rookie supercross season, as his bike oozes trickness and attention to detail common in factory race bikes.</div>
