BARRY HAWK WINS AGAIN!At the GNCC series halfway point, Barry Hawk sits on a comfortable 31-point lead over his nearest challenger; teammate Jason Raines thanks to his third victory of the year. In his home state of Pennsylvania, the third time was a charm for Hawk as he notched up two wins in a row at the new Rausch Creek GNCC in Tremont. But this was no picnic for the Yamaha rider; there were plenty of rocks and competition to keep Hawk on his toes for the duration. Right after Hawk grabbed the holeshot, KTM’s Mike Lafferty put his hard-sprinting enduro experience to use and snagged the lead and held it for a large portion of the race. Eventually he succumbed to Hawk and his teammate Jason Raines down the stretch. Raines crossed the line second and Lafferty was third.Besides Lafferty and Raines, Rodney Smith and teammate Steve Hatch also caught the front pack, making for a five-rider battle for the lead until Smith’s chain broke. Crashes took Hatch out of the running, and it was down to a three-man fight for the top spot. But Hatch still pulled off a fourth place finish, his best yet this year and the best for Team Suzuki at Rausch Creek. The third member of the Yamaha squad, Randy Hawkins wrapped up the top five.AMA GNCC Series Points Standings: 1. Barry Hawk, Jr. (156/3 wins); 2. Jason Raines (125); 3.
