(Nov. 6, 2009) – Nineteen year old Kawasaki pilot Colton Haaker is poised to take top honors in the newly-formed E3 Spark Plugs’ EnduroCross Pro Junior Championship – featuring the nation’s top up-and-coming 16 to 21-year-old GEICO AMA EnduroCross racers – when the GEICO AMA EnduroCross, presented by E3 Spark Plugs, series culminates with the final round at Vegas’ Orleans Arena on Nov. 21st.With a podium finish at the Columbus (Ohio) round, Haaker overtook Cory Graffunder (Husqvarna) for 1st place in the E3 Junior Championship standings and has since increased that lead to a solid ten points heading into Vegas (93-83). “Things have been going really well for us this year. The plan is to finish out GEICO EnduroCross strong and put ourselves in the best position to win the E3 Spark Plugs’ Pro Junior Championship,” said Haaker. Noteworthy: Graffunder, riding Husky’s new ultra light TC250, is the only other rider in the Pro Junior class to podium along with Haaker.Joining Haaker and Graffunder on the overall podium through five rounds of GEICO EnduroCross is Kyle Redmond (Yamaha) with 72 points, while Kawasaki’s Jamie Lanza (61 points) and Serco’s Patrick Smage (40 points) rounding out the top five.”We’ve got one more pro title to decide in Vegas – E3 Spark Plugs’ EnduroCross Pro Junior Championship,” said Mike Karsting VP of Events for Source Interlink Media. “Colton’s got a solid lead, but as we’ve seen with GEICO EnduroCross in the past, anything can happen.
