Factory Yamaha Rider Tim Ferry to Race THQ World Supercross GPClear Channel Entertainment announced today that former 125cc supercross champion Tim Ferry, of Dade City, Fla., will race his factory Yamaha in the 2004-2005 THQ World Supercross GP.Ferry, 29, will use the two international THQ World Supercross GP races at SkyDome in Toronto December 4 and BC Place in Vancouver on December 11 to showcase his championship run in 2004-2005.Last year Heath Voss, of Mico, Texas, defended Yamaha’s THQ World Supercross GP championship that was won by Chad Reed. This year Yamaha has two of their top riders—Voss and Ferry—contending for the coveted championship.”I’ve been injured for the better part of last year, and I need to get back on the race track and the races in Toronto and Vancouver provide the competition and track design that I need,” said Ferry. “I did the THQ World Supercross GP in 2002 and the tracks are were the same overseas so it’s great experience.”Other top riders that are committed to race in the THQ World Supercross GP championship are three-time supercross champion Ricky Carmichael, former World Motocross champion Sebastien Tortelli, 2001 125cc Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Series champion Travis Pastrana and 2004 THQ World Supercross GP champion Heath Voss.
