During the second Moto of the Dutch Open in Veldhoven, Marc De Reuver collided with another rider in mid-air, resulting in a big crash. At first, some spectators thought that De Reuver had swallowed his tongue, because he had a convulsion and was unconscious. Doctors said that the factory KTM rider had not swallowed his tongue, but in the crash probably did not get enough oxygen. The doctors diagnosed brain damage for De Reuver, meaning he has a brain contusion and a small amount of sub-cranial bleeding. This has left him with some paralysis in particular muscle groups including his right leg. De Reuver will remain hospitalized for several more days.During the MX des Nations, De Reuver was the captain of the Dutch team, and he finished second in both the Motos on the heels of the winner Stefan Everts. Our thoughts are with Marc and his family, and we hope he makes a speedy recovery.
