HILLSDALE, Mich., (Feb. 28, 2013) – Cobra Moto is headed down to Daytona Beach, Fla., to provide support to Cobra racers and their families for the fourth annual Monster Energy Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Championship – part of the popular “Bike Week” festivities at Daytona International Speedway – March 10th & 11th.

“It’s going to be great having Sean Hilbert join us this year at the Monster Energy Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Championship,” said MX Sports’ Event Director Tim Cotter. “Anytime that you have the head person at an OEM at the event it’s a big deal for us and it helps in so many ways. Sean will be able to give input to the racers and their families, as well as utilize the event for R&D for Cobra Moto.”

Directly following the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship round at the Speedway, Cobra Moto – pitted in Garage No. 1 in Daytona’s famed NASCAR paddock – will be on hand to support the riders participating in RC’s signature event, with help from one of its top Eastern Seaboard dealers – Maryland’s Naecker’s Cobra. Cobra Moto will also pay out contingency through its “Cobra Bucks” program to all 50cc and 65cc classes at Daytona.

“The Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross at Daytona is a great way for Cobra Moto families to experience Bike Week in a way like they’ve never been able to before,” said Hilbert. “I’m looking forward to checking out the talent on the track this weekend and meeting with the racers and their families to help with any questions they have regarding the Cobra Moto products.”

About MX Sports

MX Sports organizes the event by utilizing more 30 years of experience operating the Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn Ranch. The class structure includes classes for youth riders on 50cc bikes all the way up to vet and senior classes. The race will follow a supercross format, using heat races and last chance qualifiers to seed the field of riders into a main event in each class, over the course of two days. Unlike the Loretta Lynn Ranch format, riders do not need to qualify at other races in order to participate in the Daytona event.
