SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Nov. 6, 2012 — GrindMedia, the world’s leading action and adventure sports media company and division of Source Interlink Media, has named Kris Keefer as Associate Editor of Dirt Rider Magazine, www.dirtrider.com and www.motocross.com.
Keefer will play a key role in producing editorial content for Dirt Rider Magazine, DirtRider.com and Motocross.com, according to Norb Garrett, SVP and Group Publisher of GrindMedia. Keefer will report to Editor-In-Chief Chris Denison and Publisher Damian Ercole.
A test rider for the magazine since 2001, Keefer’s promotion to a full-time staff position will allow his technical knowledge, testing ability and interpersonal skills to be fully integrated into the brand’s current positioning as the top testing magazine in the industry. Drawing on a previous career as a professional test rider for numerous motorcycle and accessory manufacturers, Keefer will continue his Dirt Rider testing duties while simultaneously cultivating his content production skills as part of the editorial staff.
“Keefer has been an integral part of Dirt Rider for so long, it’s only natural that he transitions into a full-time staff position, ” said Denison. “His vast testing skills, unbounded creativity and current familiarity with the inner workings of the brand will certainly enhance Dirt Rider’s reputation as the premier MX and off-road testing publication in the industry, while also allowing us to execute some incredibly cool new projects. I could not be happier to have Kris on board.”
Keefer joins a well-rounded editorial team that includes Denison, Senior Editor Adam Booth, Associate Editors Chris Green and Pete Peterson as well as Web Producer Lindsey Lovell. Publisher Damian Ercole believes that Keefer’s promotion from head tester to Associate Editor is a natural next step for the likable racer. “The entire industry is already aware of Keefer’s stellar reputation as an honest, fair and competent test rider,” said Ercole. “Bringing him on board will give Kris a chance to spread his creative wings and join an already strong editorial team that is wholly dedicated to producing a product that readers love to engage in.”
