In the November issue we basically had a national caliber MX race bike built with some trick, yet readily available equipment. The motor is explained mostly in the magazine but here is a deeper explanation of the MX Tech Suspension and the polishing process of a lot of the motor internals.

The graph from above shows the force versus deflection graphs comparing the stock Showa TC fork with the MX-Tech Element 7 (E-7) fork. The E-7 has very low hysteresis, as shown by the proximity of the force lines; this translates to consistent feel and performance and is accomplished by good pressure balancing and low frictional forces.
The E-7 system has a total of 3.35 pounds of friction, versus the standard Showa with 4.65 pounds; that's almost a 30 percent decrease. Thus stiffer valving can be utilized while still allowing for good feel. If you will notice, the nose of the graph shows a more pronounced step on the Showa. This is indicative of a digressive valving system as the valve opens and creates exponential area. The MX-Tech system uses a linear to digressive giving a more predictable feel over the change in speed, with the digressive point coming at higher shaft speeds.
In summary the key points of the MX-Tech Element 7 system are less friction, linear force change and purely speed-sensitive valving. This means more low-speed compression damping can be utilized to improve chassis platform without the typical corresponding increase in harshness that would be expect with as stiff a setup in a traditional Showa TC fork. The design is the optimization of existing technology, improving the action of the suspension.
ISF
Any time two metal parts come into contact the resulting friction causes heat to build up. These high temperatures lead to wear over time, reduce efficiency and eventually create the need for replacement. While the dimensional integrity remains intact, the result is an improved component that will operate at lower temperatures, have increased durability, quieter operation and increased time between maintenance.
