I have been a subscriber to your magazine for about 4 years. One of the reasons I continue to subscribe is I always know I or my boys can open it up and never be embarrassed by an inappropriate ad. My boys often grab the mag out of the mail box and read it cover to cover before I get to it. In this recent mag, there was an ad by "SparX" with a 1/2 naked girl from the back. This was not the thing I would ever choose to bring into my home or allow my boys to read. I hope in the future you will not run ads like this. You have a great mag and should have no problems getting ads. I would like to continue receiving your mag but will stop if there continues to be other ads like this one.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
I know how you feel, I thought that was poop (I'd use a different word here but I get who I'm talking to.) as well. Here is an excerpt from a column you will soon see:
Usually I hope the ads are ad well designed and as cool looking as the edit content of the magazine so they are enjoyable to look at, too. But sometimes there are ads that cause some ripples, whether it be a scantily clad model (regardless of gender, geez guys!) or some cigars or something, well, these advertisers can buy pages too. We limit this stuff on the editorial side, which I have control over. Yet sometimes an ad shows up that stirs the pot. All I can say is use it to educate whomever you are worried about it being offensive to. I'll only suggest that the one good side to a bad ad is that now we've opened the door up, in a third person manner, for you to have a discussion about the offensive material to whomever you feel it will be offensive to. An ad which I, as editor, had little control over in the first place.
