Goggle Wipes
When I first saw Goggle Wipes, I scoffed. I laughed. I mocked. And then, I put a few in my gear bag. As a big fan of the good old spit-and-jersey-sleeve goggle cleaning method, I resolved that I didn't need special little wonder wipes to keep my goggles clean. For the sake of testing, though, I waited until my goggles were covered in a few layers of muck before pulling one of the tiny wipes out of its single serving package. Two passes of the little cloth later, I learned something very interesting: These things are awesome! Be it mud, dust, dirt, grime, sweat, soot, sludge or muck (haven't tried blood yet), it seems there's no filth that Goggle Wipes can't handle. The cleaning solution infused in each cloth does wonders for clearing roost without leaving behind any scratches or milky fi lm, and the Wipes are as streak-free as any household window cleaner I've ever tried. What's more, each Wipe is self-contained, so you don't need to carry around a bulky bottle of solution or roll of paper towels in your gear bag. Each cloth is able to do two or three goggles (depending on the amount of filth), so you can share with your buddies as well. Running at $4.99 for a pack of 12 wipes, the only downsides are that a) they dry out in about 20-30 minutes, so you need to use them once opened and b) the wrappers create a bit of trash, which I would hate to see on the side of a trail. If you're hesitant to buy special wipes for your lenses, just remember how much a good pair of goggles costs. In my opinion, that makes Goggle Wipes a pretty good investment! -Chris Denison
