MOTORCYCLE FESTIVAL COMES TO THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS
Mark your calendars; the Race Promotion Management (RPM) organized Motorcyclist and Dirt Rider CycleFest presented by Suzuki will be coming to Copper Mountain August 22-24, 2003. Scheduled to be the largest motorcycle event in the Rocky Mountain region, it'll give riders a chance to test ride over 100 different motorcycles and ATVs and see all the new motorcycle aftermarket products. Test rides will be available from Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, BMW, Aprilia and several other manufacturers to be announced. In addition, Suzuki and Kawasaki will offer ATV demo rides.
PRIMEDIA will be the title sponsor for this inaugural event. "We are thrilled to be able to promote this event through our publications, Motorcyclist, Dirt Rider, MXRacer, Sport Rider, ATV Rider and Cruiser. With our national publications and the experience of RPM, I think this event will be a homerun in its first year," said Fred Koplin, VP/Group Publisher, Motorcycle Group.
One of the largest dealerships in the country and associate event sponsor, Fay Myers Motorcycle World will be on-site to offer potential buyers - who get the chance to test ride all the latest products in one location - some great sales incentives to buy a motorcycle or ATV.
Beside test riding all the new hardware, there will also be dual-sport rides and on-highway rides right out of Copper Mountain. The rides will include celebrity ride leaders, lunch, maps and chase vehicles to assure that everyone has a great ride.
The bike action planned for the CycleFest includes an AMA Supermotard Series stop. Also in its first year, the race should see big names such as Jeremy McGrath, Scott Russell, Kevin Schwantz and a number of other top riders from a variety of disciplines racing head to head for top honors on Saturday afternoon. And in the air, top freestylers Tommy "Tomcat" Clowers, Jeff Tilton and others will be putting in a freestyle demo high above the crowd.
Entertainment will continue after sundown with a band on both Friday and Saturday night from 4pm to 8pm. There will be plenty of great food and drinks to help you relax while you listen to the national acts, with the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains.
The event will offer something extra special for kids age 5 to 14 - test rides on KTMs, Suzukis, and Kawasakis on a man-made course set up to entertain the kids as they test ride the motorcycles.
Located just an hour and fifteen minutes west of Denver, right off I-70, Copper Mountain is a world-class ski resort that offers more to do in the summer than in the winter. "Copper Mountain offers chair-lift rides, mountain bike rentals, scenic hiking trails and a championship Pete Dye golf course on-site," said Wenda Huseman, Director of Marketing for Copper Mountain. Tickets to the event are $15 per day or $35 for a Big Dog Three-day pass that includes admission to the expo, access to demo rides and seminars, admission to the concert both nights, a coupon book with over $100 of coupons for Copper and a souvenir event pin.
