Cooper Webb went down in the first turn and was in 38th place when he got up and going. Cooper said that he did go in panic mode but was able to pass a bunch of guys on the first lap and make his way up to 26th place. Cooper told himself to chill out and make good decisions since the track was hard to pass on today, and he had to make the passes stick as he needed to get the best finish as possible to limit the damage.Photo By Rob Koy

He believes if he didn’t get a bad start and fall he should have easily won the moto. Cooper Webb would have to wait until the end of moto 2 to get the championship.Photo By Rob Koy
Cooper once again got another bad start after locking bars with his teammate Alex Martin and Chris Alldredge halfway down the start straight and almost fell down. Cooper was in 18th place after the first lap and had to put his head down again and make his way through the field. By the halfway point of the moto Cooper was all the way up to 5th place and made some more late passes to get himself up to 3rd place at the end of the moto.Photo By Rob Koy
Cooper Webb went 6-3 for 5th overall to clinch the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 250 Series Championship with one round to go. Cooper said that the outdoor title is ten times harder to win then a Supercross title and it take shear toughness and heart to win the outdoor title. When asked how tough the first few round were with the wrist injury Cooper said that he did not want to sit on the coach all summer and drink beer. Rather he wanted to work his ass off and win this 250 title his teammate Jeremy Martin claimed the last two years. Cooper said a lot of people thought he was crazy to race with a broken wrist when he had so much to lose if things went bad. There was only four people that believed he could do it and they were his parents, his trainer Gareth Swanepoel and team owner Bobby Reagan. There was about 20 important people wishing he would not try to race the outdoors and wait it out for the off season and next year supercross season. Cooper also said that the outdoors doesn’t come down to speed, but rather how much you can suffer. Cooper wasn’t sure if he had it in him and it was one of the hardest things he had to do on a motorcycle.Photo By Rob Koy
Cooper Webb silenced his critics by showing them how easy he was able to take the points lead halfway through the series and never look back. Cooper is all smiles and number one after clinching the championship he wanted so bad.Photo By Rob Koy
Cooper and Bobby Reagan letting us know who is the champion. Cooper said that back in 2012 he went to every team and begged for a chance to prove he could win for them. The only deal he had available was through Red Bull on the then JDR KTM team. Cooper said he just didn’t believe in the team and was looking for something else that would not make him an average pro. Bobby Reagan gave him a ride on the less stellar Star Racing team and Cooper admitted the first year on the team that he was nervous. After a year on the team Cooper went to Yamaha and told them that he needed better parts for him to win. Well Keith McCarthy listened and gave him factory parts to better the team. All the parts of the puzzle started to fall into place and Cooper said that he is now on the best 250 team out there and we have a championship to show.Photo By Rob Koy
