Monster Energy Supercross Notes Package: Salt Lake City

AMA Supercross Class Stats in Salt Lake City
The first race was held April 28, 2001, and Ricky Carmichael won on a Kawasaki.

From 2005-2008, Salt Lake City did not host an AMA Supercross race.

This year marks the sixth time the gate will fall in Salt Lake City for an AMA Supercross class race.

AMA Supercross Class Recap from Seattle
Ryan Dungey and Jeremy McGrath are the only two rookies to win the AMA Supercross title.

With Ryan Villopoto out with an injury, Dungey was able to clinch the title in Seattle.

The only rookies to win in Seattle were Hannah in 1977 and McGrath in 1993.

Ryan Dungey gave Suzuki their fourth AMA Supercross class championship. Mark Barnett won his title in 1981; Carmichael won his titles in 2005 & 2006.

Kevin Windham earned his 17th career AMA Supercross class win and is now tied on the all-time win list with Mark Barnett and Jeff Stanton

Windham is the fifth different race winner this year: Dungey, Villopoto, Stewart and Millsaps.

Windham now has won at least one AMA Supercross class race in eight different seasons and three different decades. McGrath won in nine different season and Jeff Ward also won in eight different seasons.

Tommy Hahn earned the first podium finish of his career, earning second place.

Broc Tickle earned the first podium finish of his career and Yamaha’s first win in Seattle since the 2008 stop.
