Watts Happening??? December Newsletter

G’day Everyone,

Thanks heaps to all of you for letting us have by far our most successful year of the DirtWise Academy of Offroad Riding schools and Instructional DVDs. It was a slammed year with a crazy travel schedule to conduct the 51 two-day schools that we managed to squeeze in which resulted in a grand total of 951 students attending during 2011. I ended up spending more than half the nights of this year away from home – unfortunately that’s not such a great thing!

During this time I got to meet and hang out with so many great students, and it was excellent to see plenty of previous students from a few years ago that were coming back again to get a refresher on their skills, plus to show off their improved skills since the last class they attended. I also got to meet up with some of my old friends from back in the day who were now either enrolled in a DirtWise school or bringing their own kids to learn the correct techniques.

Our 2012 schedule is going to be once again pretty crazy and packed full of schools as we try to satisfy the demand. Between now and early January 2012 we will be confirming and announcing our schools from March through to September so be sure to check back often, or more so, go ahead and email us about which school you are interested in and we’ll contact you directly once that school is open for registration.

During August and September we will be filming Volume 3 & 4 in our Advanced Instructional DVD series. These are going to be so awesome! Currently we are getting it all planned out and we will be hitting some pretty awesome trail situations out in the mountains! In the meantime don’t forget in the lead up to the very fast approaching Christmas that we have our existing DVDs for sale that will work great as a desired present or stocking stuffer for yourself, your offroad crazy kids, or one of your riding mates.

In Search of Trails….???
During 2011 we conducted some of our DirtWise schools at some great Riding parks such as Rock Hill in Lebanon OR, Rivers Edge in Danville VA, Wicomico in Newport MD, and Two Rivers in Milliken CO. Our final school of the year was held at the new Hard Labor Creek Offroad Park at Chipley FL, near Tallahassee, and this is another great location to go spin your wheels at, especially for all of you northerners that want a new destination to visit on your yearly pilgrimage south to get out of the snow and get some quality riding in. Dexter, the legendary 70 year old guru that runs the place, currently has put in over 30 miles of epic single track with more going in daily. It will be well worth the effort to go hit this place up – contact him directly at Ph 850-527-0615 to make it happen. On a side note I think I’ve convinced Dexter that he needs to go to Colorado and ride the mountains before his days are up. If any of you Colorado guys out there want to show him around the Taylor Park area next August go ahead and drop him a line.

For you guys that are up for roosting somewhere a little more exotic go ahead and take a trip to Oz and hook up with our mates Staino and Con at their respective Trail Tour companies. During this year we conducted DirtWise schools at both of their base camps/Ride parks and got to go rip a quick, epic half day trail ride with them that was totally grouse! Staino operates West Coast Safaris Trail Tours near Perth while Con runs Otway Trail Tours on the east coast near Melbourne. You are assured of a great ride with either of these two quality operations, and a bloody good time!!!

Funny Video!
We’ve all experienced this one before, either watching someone else do it or more likely we have done it ourselves. At least this guy’s mates (?!?) were there to document the moment and give him the necessary support and encouragement, ha, ha!
