Marc de Reuver of the Lanes Kawasaki Team had bad luck at the first round of the Dutch Open Championship Series in Oss. De Reuver had high expectations coming into this race and was motivated to do well in front of his home fans. In the first moto Marc finished the race in fourth position. In the second moto he got a mechanical problem and crashed twice because of this. Because it was to dangerous to race like that he decided to retire from the race and didn’t score points in the second moto.
The track in Oss was well prepared and with a strong field of international riders all the spectators were expecting a great race. Marc felt good in practice and set the fourth fastest time.
In the first moto he took a decent start and at the end of the first lap he came by start/finish in sixth position. In the beginning of the race he lost a position to Ken de Dijcker and dropped back to seventh position. It didn’t took long before he picked up the pace and started to make up places. In the middle of the race he had worked himself up to fourth position but at that point the leaders were already gone. Marc stayed concentrated and finished the race in fourth position.
In the second moto he had a lot of bad luck. In the beginning of the race his bike started to bogle and because of this he crashed twice. It was to dangerous to ride so Marc decided to retire from the race.
Overall Marc finished in twelfth position. Marc’s next race is the first round of the British Championship Series at the Fatcat Motopark in Doncaster next Sunday.
