June 9, 2010 – San Diego, CA – Tonight will be a memorable night on DMXS radio as the show will be dedicated and expanded to three hours for the upcoming release of Pipeline Digital Media’s newest film the Carlsbad USGP:1980. The film documents the 1980 U.S. Grand Prix event where local, privateer Marty Moates beat out all the odds and world’s best to win both motos becoming the first American to ever win the prestigious 500cc event.
DMXSRadio.com, the leading motocross and supercross Internet radio program, guests will include legends like Brad Lackey, Roger DeCoster, Bob Hannah, Marty Tripes, Danny LaPorte, Ricky Johnson. Also appearing will be LOP Founder and Marty Moates’ mechanic, Laurens Offner as well as USGP promoter Gavin Trippe and Producer/Director, Todd Huffman. DMXS hosts, David Izer and Kevin Kelly will sure to have the audience howling as they ask the “tough” questions about that famous race and day in Carlsbad on June 22, 1980.

The Carlsbad USGP:1980
In 1980 San Diego’s Marty Moates became the first American to win the U.S. Grand Prix of Motocross in the event’s ten-year history. Not only did Moates’ victory end a string of European wins, it opened a floodgate for other American USGP champions including San Diego’s Broc Glover, the 1984 winner, and Ricky Johnson, the 1986 champion.
