Supercross finals began early Wednesday morning as the Florida sunshine was just peeking over the treeline. The SX track was in perfect condition and stayed so all day with a little help of the hard working track crew. We watched the best of the best throw down on a technical, but fun course all day long. Tomorrow begins the outdoor portion of the amateur national on the historic Gatorback MX course.

One of the best battles of the day didn’t come from the A class, it was these lil guys. Seth Dennis and Mikah Carpenter, both aboard Cobra 50 Jr’s duked it out for most of the moto. At the finish first was Dennis though who was awarded 51cc 4-6 limited champion.Photo by Jacob Souder
Amsoil/ Factory Connection Honda’s “Smokin” Jo Shimoda. Quite possibly the fastest kid you haven’t heard of yet. Rest assured, you will be seeing the name again. He and Kawasaki’s Lance Kobusch paced each other until the very end of the Schoolboy 2, Shimoda winning by inches. Seriously though, he is surgical on a bike, no mistakes.Photo by Jacob Souder
Tough break for Jordan Jarvis, a heavy favorite in the Girls 12-16 class was forced to DNF after mechanical failure on the last lap. Jarvis worked the entire moto to pass Katie Benson and did so on the last lap just before her bike failed. Benson is the 2016 champion.Photo by Jacob Souder

In 2016 AMSoil, Factory Connection Honda back Carson Mumford hasn't had the season we had expected. The tide has changed however as Mumford was the man to beat all day. Carson was untouchable on his CRF150R, getting out front early and wasn’t contested for three championship titles.Photo by Jacob Souder
The path to success has been anything but straight for Challen Tennant. The Texan’s career has been riddled with injury. This morning, on his Star Racing Yamaha he started up front and left the pack. He is the 2016 250A Gatorback SX champion.Photo by Jacob Souder
