SHIFT is proud to announce that they have signed the Amsoil/Chaparral/Honda Factory Connection 125 Race Team for the 2004 and 2005 race seasons. This mulit-year agreement will see Travis Preston, Chris Gosselaar, Billy Laninovich, and Ryan Mills wearing custom Team Factory Connection gear in the 125 Supercross and 125 National classes, and also in selected 250 class events. "It's been a few years since we have had a strong presence in Professional Supercross and Motocross with Jeff Emig, but we wanted to wait to find the right fit for our company and brand" said Brian Price from SHIFT. "Everything - the look, the image, and the results - had to be right. Partnering with a top level team so respected in racing and supported by Honda was perfect and we jumped at the chance. They fit perfectly with our program of developing young, up and coming riders and we are ready to give 110% to supporting this racing program." Factory Connection Team Manager J.C. Waterhouse is enthusiastic also: "SHIFT has always had a great image, plus our riders really wanted them. They worked really hard to make this happen and that is exactly what we look for in our sponsors. 2004 will be a great year for us both."
Another plus is that three of the riders, Preston, Gosselaar, and Laninovich, will be on the new Honda CRF250. Honda is known for their ability to build championship caliber bikes and early tests have the CRF as the bike to beat.
